A manufacturer of injection-molded plastics will invest millions to expand its thermoplastic molding facility in East Tennessee, state and company officials announced.
Parkway Products said it would spend $5.7 million on its Greeneville operations, which would allow the company to add more lines and invest in new space, tooling, and assets. The project is expected to create 160 new jobs over the next five years.
Company officials, in part, credited its current Greenville workforce, as well as strong growth among its equipment manufacturer customers, for the decision to expand.
“We see Greene County as a great place to grow and will continue to strive to make Parkway Products an employer of choice for more people in Greeneville,” Parkway CEO Andrew Green said in the announcement.
Parkway, based in Greenville, South Carolina, offers thermoset molding, magnesium thixomolding, machined plastics, high-performance polymers, and other injection-mold processes to the aerospace, industrial, electronics, agriculture, automotive, healthcare, off-road truck, and infrastructure sectors.
In addition to Tennessee, the company operates locations in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Illinois, Colorado, and Mexico.
